Cloud accounting contenders Xero have inked another integration, this time with cloud business payments network Bill.com.

Through the availability of Xero's Direct Sync, business owners can now sync their Xero and Bill.com accounts to integrate bill pay with online accounting—providing small business owners with a real-time snapshot of their financials.

According to both companies, the solution can be up and running in less than an hour.

Additional features of the integration allow users to:

  • Automatically transfer and manage unpaid bills from Xero into Bill.com.
  • Automatically sync a range of data with Xero including accounts, vendors, customers, and vendor credits.
  • Reconcile payments made through Bill.com using Xero bank reconciliation features.
  • Directly access customer service and payment support.

To complement the joint integration, Xero is offering a new program benefiting Xero Partners, providing accountants with a no-subscription account for their firm, along with a special price on the Bill.com Accountant Program of $30/month (regularly $49/month). This program provides access to client accounts, free training with CPE credits, certification and discounts.

“Our partnership with Bill.com will offer a simple solution for managing payments and tracking cash flow - both crucial to the health of small businesses,” James Maiocco, Xero's GM Business and Corporate Development, said in a statement. “Xero and Bill.com Direct Sync will make life easier for our customers by reducing the time spent on tedious back-office processes instead enabling them to focus on growing their businesses.”
