A new partnership between Sage PLC and Saleforce has spurred the release of Sage Life, a platform as a service designed to enable small businesses to oversee accounting, payroll, finance data, and connect with their clients in the cloud from any device.
The companies claim that the average small business has between four and eight software systems to run the company, creating complexity and hindering their ability to gain a single view of customer, employee, and supplier information.
Sage Life was designed to be fully customizable and has a mobile control center so employees can view data in real time. The product also has social networking functions allowing interconnections between colleagues, customers, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Small business software no longer has to represent different systems or layers of complexity â it'll be simple, collaborative, and real time,â said Sage Chief Executive Stephen Kelly in a statement. âWith Sage Life, we are delivering social, mobile, cloud-based innovation, powered by real-time accounting. Now running a small business can be as easy as updating your Facebook status.â
In addition, as part of the partnership, Sage has joined Pledge 1% â a philanthropic movement that Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff is a proponent of â that helps donate a portion of future profits to area nonprofit organizations.
