G2 Crowd, a crowdsourced, Yelp-like business software review site, has published its latest report which has top satisfaction and user ratings for nine of the most reviewed accounting software platforms on the market.
Of the more than 75 software vendors listed in G2 Crowd's Accounting Software category, the nine ranked products each received 10 or more reviews to qualify for inclusion in G2 Crowd's Grid for Accounting Summer 2015 report.
Across all accounting systems, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 79 percent, while on average reviewers said they were 75 percent likely to recommend the product they use. Highly rated product features include internationalization, journal entries, and AR automation.
Satisfaction rankings are generated from the user reviews, and market presence is calculated from vendor size, market share, and social impact. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Niche.
Some of the highlights of the report showed that QuickBooks Desktop, Intacct, and Xero were named Leaders. To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence, according to G2 Crowd.
High Performers have relatively high satisfaction and lower market presence scores. Also, High Performers were considered to have high customer satisfaction scores, but with a comparatively smaller market presence than Leaders, either due to the fact they are newer companies, have fewer employees, or smaller earnings. FreshBooks was the only High Performer named, while Intacct earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.
Contenders are defined as products with âsignificant market presence and resources,â but their products received below-average user satisfaction ratings or had not yet received a sufficient number of reviews to validate their products, according to the G2 Crowd report. Contender products in the most recent report include: Sage 100 ERP, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Niche products were defined as those that do not have the market presence of the Leaders. They may have been rated positively on customer satisfaction, but have not yet received enough reviews to validate their success. The only named Niche product in the report was FinancialForce.
The Summer 2015 report is based on more than 425 reviews written by individual business and finance professionals, and factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.
