I was born and raised in beautiful South Lake Tahoe and I am the youngest of six siblings. I was raised in a religion that undermined women. I watched people I love suffer as a result and decided I would not allow that life for myself or my kids. I saw education as the way out.
Schools in Tahoe, “The Gem of the Sierras”, teach students to be environmentally focused. I have found that when you value and care for your resources all aspects of your life tend to be better. I value people who adapt well to change, are environmentally conscious, who have an attitude of gratitude and who value personal and professional growth.
My dad has owned and operated a small carpet cleaning business in Tahoe for the last 45 years. Growing up, I worked with him and I learned that service, quality, and cash flow will make or break a business. He stressed the importance of being responsive, professional, and maintaining an excellent reputation.
I spent the next 15 years working in restaurants and retail at various levels. Attending college was discouraged in my family as a waste of money. I disagreed and found a way to go, earning a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2012, and a master's degree in Business in 2017.
I had planned to go into Public Accounting, but I became a Mother shortly after finishing my bachelor’s degree. I chose to know and raise my daughter rather than work long hours in public accounting. I started my accounting career in payroll.
Within 2 years I was promoted to Financial Controller and progressed in corporate accounting for midsize restaurant chains for the next 4 years. Through that experience I saw a need for business process change. So many companies are still on paper, for example. Their red tape, resistance to change and lack of technology adoption makes progress slow. Most of the head-aches business owners endure can be eliminated through investment in technology and investment in their people.
I started my business to help my clients recognize opportunities in providing excellent customer and employee experiences. Upholding these values leads to higher profits long term.
I enjoy learning, growth, travel, dining out, hiking, snorkeling, golf, camping, theme parks, singing, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. I am blessed with two beautiful kids and my awesome husband.
