Because of emergency conditions related to Hurricane Sandy, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has decided to postpone the Digital CPA: 2012 CPA2Biz Cloud User Conference, which had been scheduled for October 28-30 in the Washington, DC area.
"With so much enthusiasm surrounding this event, this was obviously a difficult decision", said Erik Asgeirsson, president and CEO of CPA2Biz, the technology subsidiary of the AICPA. "However, the safety of our attendees and all those connected to this event are of paramount importance to us. We'll come back strong - and safe - at the same venue in December."
The governors of both Virginia and Maryland declared states of emergency earlier today, which was a significant factor in the decision to postpone the event until December 5-7. The rescheduled conference will be held at the same location, the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside the nation's capital.
