Sage has formed a partnership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) with the goal of using its tools and knowledge to support the growth and success of bookkeepers and the businesses they serve.

The deal was announced at this week's Sage Summit user and partner event in New Orleans.

ICB is the largest bookkeeping institute in the world and its chief executive, Garry Carter, recognized that much like the accounting profession and the growth of more international accounting standards, the accounting software market can also move in a more standardized direction.

“The barriers to global commerce are dropping faster and more dramatically than ever,” Carter said in a statement. “Combined with continuous advancements in technology, the business landscape is ripe for even the very smallest companies to have international ambitions – more so now than ever before.”

In further support of Carter's statements, Jennifer Warawa, Sage's global vice president of product marketing for accountants, added that “even the smallest companies want the ease of trading effortlessly across borders, and both bookkeepers and accountants will play a pivotal role in these transactions. This truly represents a fresh – and much needed – approach to international trade management.”
