The 2010 Tax Relief Act contains provisions that affect both 2010 returns, and tax planning for 2011 and 2012. CPE Link has scheduled live webcasts to help tax practitioners make sense of the changes.

The 2010 Tax Relief Act contains temporary extensions of the Bush tax cuts, an AMT patch, a partial extender bill for expired 2009 provisions, temporary estate tax relief, and temporary extensions of some business tax relief.

With provisions that affect both 2010 returns and tax planning for 2011 and 2012, the new Tax Relief Act puts pressure on tax practitioners to know how to advise clients. CPE Link has scheduled live webcasts to help practitioners get up to speed quickly.

“Our experts have distilled the new tax rules and their implications for clients into rapid-fire live webcast presentations,” said Sue Anderson, CPE Link program director. “We think these webcasts could be the most productive one or two hours that tax practitioners spend this year.”

CPE Link is offering several options for live webcast training on the new Tax Relief Act of 2010.

A one-hour overview of the provisions, 2010 Tax Relief Act: How It Affects Your Clients will be taught by Annette Nellen, CPA, Esq., director of the Masters of Science in Taxation program at San Jose State University. Presented February 10, this webcast will cover the tax extenders and new rules for businesses and individuals as well as planning considerations for 2011 and beyond.

Tax Relief Act Of 2010: Focus on Financial and Estate Planningwill put practitioners on the cutting edge of financial and estate planning for 2011 and 2012.

“The political theater that led to the act’s passage is over and tax practitioners have to deal immediately with the reality. This two-hour webcast will help them to leverage the detailed provisions of the Act in practical and client-friendly financial and estate plans,” said instructor Owen Fiore, JD, who represents families and business entities in developing and implementing tax sensitive wealth succession, preservation, and management plans. This webcast will be offered February 9.

Coverage of the tax relief package also has been incorporated into the final sessions of CPE Link’s popular 16-hour Federal Tax Update Series. Practitioners may attend February15-18 or March 1-4. Attendees will receive Vern Hoven’s 20-page handout devoted exclusively to the new provisions, and webcast moderator Bill Roos will lead the discussion.
