This morning we posted an article on how Indiana is trying to amend its ethics education requirement for CPAs. While the core hours-based requirement will be kept in place, two new options would be added: completing a competency-based ethics course or achieving verified, relevant experience in ethics through a noncompensated role with a professional or trade organization.
What is your take on Indiana’s proposal? Do you think more states should follow Indiana’s lead and allow competency- or experience-based ethics education requirements for their CPAs?
