SEC Releases Proposed IFRS Roadmap; FAF Writes G-20

By Edith Orenstein, FEI Financial Reporting Blog - Late today (Nov. 14) the SEC posted its proposed IFRS Roadmap, officially known as the proposed rule entitled: “Roadmap for the Potential Use of Financial Statements Prepared in Accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards by U.S. Issuers.” There is a 90-day comment period. Separately, the Financial Accounting Foundation sent a letter to President Bush and the G-20 on Nov. 13, and U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson announced a change in strategy for the TARP program earlier this week; read more on these topics here.
