A&A Thursday: AICPA Asks IRS for Tax Leniency

In its ongoing attempt to look out for the accounting profession, the AICPA has asked the IRS to work in harmony with taxpayers and tax preparers to alleviate the potential pain of delays coming from the IRS this tax season. In a letter to the IRS, the AICPA has asked for open-mindedness when considering reasonable-cause pleas for penalty relief. In addition, the AICPA has asked for a waiver from estimated tax penalties.
