Sean Wandrei, CPA, Tax Manager at Holyoke, Massachusetts-based Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. was recently named as a member of the Young Professional Society (YPS) of Greater Springfield Board of Directors. Sean will serve a two year term as the organization's Treasurer and, with other YPS board members, is charged with leading YPS in its stated goals and mission. The mission of the YPS is to engage, involve and educate the region's young professionals through business and career development, volunteerism and philanthropy, as well as social and cultural opportunities.
Wandrei's personal mission aligns naturally with YPS's goals. Wandrei has 12 years experience in public accounting, with an emphasis in taxation. A CPA since 2000, he received his BSBA degree from Bryant University and will receive his Master of Taxation degree from The University of Hartford in 2010. Wandrei recently participated in and authored an article about the Young CPA Gulf Coast Relief Trip which was sponsored by the Massachusetts Society for Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). The purpose of this trip was to allow young CPA professionals to use their unique talents to reach out to over 100 small business and non-profits in the Gulfport-Biloxi area that continued to be severely effected by Hurricane Katrina. Wandrei conducted free, one-on-one business coaching sessions and helped those affected by the hurricane get their technical and financial questions answered. Wandrei also regularly runs marathons to raise money for Griffin's Friends, a local charity. When Wandrei is not working or involved with volunteerism, he is running, traveling, playing hockey, and skiing.
Wandrei has been employed by Meyers Brothers Kalicka, PC (MBK) since 2004. Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. is the largest independently owned and operated CPA firm based in Western Massachusetts, providing business strategy expertise as well as tax and accounting services, to the region's closely held businesses and high net worth individuals. MBK's clients encompass numerous industries with concentrations in real estate, construction, the not-for-profit sector, health care advisory services, and wealth management services.
