The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)Accounting Standards Codification – recognized as the authoritative source of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for public and private companies and not-for-profit organizations – has been enabled for use on tablet devices.
The FASB’s parent organization, the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF), noted on January 31 that FASB Codification subscribers can now access the new tablet view through iOS and Android-based devices.
After user login, the system will automatically recognize the user’s device and display the optimized view. The tablet feature is available for both professional and basic views, according to the FAF.
After accessing the tablet view, on-screen pop-up instructions guide the user to add a link icon, or bookmark, to the device’s home screen. Additional detail is available on the “Tablet Usage” page of the “Codification Help” section.
In addition, the FAF plans to announce the availability of a tablet view for the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Governmental Accounting Research System (GARS Online) in the coming weeks.
