Following is the latest roundup of firm news for the week of September 20, 2010.

Beall Barclay recently announced the addition of Ashley Farrar, Randall Stone, and Courtney Wald to its professional staff. Farrar and Stone serve as staff accountants in the audit and tax services departments. Wald serves as a junior accountant.

Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith was selected as the "#1 Best Place to Work" in the medium company size category by the Birmingham Business Journal. The award was based on feedback from confidential employee surveys.

Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP, has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2010. The Best Places to Work in PA survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses.

HPG Wealthcare Advisors, LLC, recently announced that the family of Steven D. Katzenstein is included in the North Carolina Museum of History travelling exhibit Down Home: Jewish Life in North Carolina. Katzenstein serves as a financial adviser for the firm and is the fourth generation of his family to live in North Carolina.

Howard, Wershbale & Co. (HWCO), has been awarded the NorthCoast 99 (NC99) Award for being one of "99 Great Workplaces for Top Talent in Northeast Ohio." The NC99 Awards recognize companies in Northeast Ohio that have shown outstanding abilities to attract, retain, and motivate talented employees.

Kenneth Kirkland, CPA, MST, founding shareholder and managing partner at KAF Financial Group, will take over the position of International Chair of JHI International, a worldwide association of independent accounting firms in November 2010.

Katz, Sapper & Miller LLP recently announced that KSM Business Technology LLC is now KSM Consulting LLC.

KPMG LLP announced that it has continued its investment in building a team of senior restructuring professionals with the recent additions of Tony Murphy in New York City and Tom Bibby in Dallas.

LBA Wealth Management recently was recognized as the top Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in North Florida as ranked by Financial Advisor Magazine. The magazine ranks RIA firms in the country based on assets under management as of December 31, 2009, and report growth in assets during 2009, assets per client, growth in assets per client, and change in number of clients.

Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP has hired Kevin McQuade as its director of business development.

RBZ, LLP recently announced the promotion of 11 accounting professionals. Promotions include: Lynell Chun has been promoted to director; Amy Kutzkey, Cecilia Lin, and Eric Liu have been promoted to senior supervisor; Stefanie Craig, Amy Crowe, Jim Drozda, Rajpal Matharu, Todd Griffith, and Rob Stevenson have been promoted to supervisor; Mishel Justesen has been promoted to marketing supervisor.

Henry Rinder, a member of the firm at Smolin, Lupin & Co., PA, will be serving on a panel that addresses "Contemporary Challenges Confronting Auditors" as part of the 37th annual meeting of the Northeast Business and Economics Association on October 1.

Vrakas/Blum, S.C., recently announced that Lindsay M. Rudkin, CPA, has accepted the position of business development senior. Rudkin previously served Vrakas/Blum as a senior accountant.

Mark E. Lund, CPA, CCIFP, and Houston Audit location leader for Weaver, recently was named executive partner for the Houston office.
