AACSB International Accreditation Recipients

Thirteen academic institutions around the world have recently earned accreditation from Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. These schools join an elite group of 514 accredited institutions, representing less than 10 percent of the world's business schools, achieving this designation. Of the total 527 accredited institutions, only 168 have also achieved accounting accreditation. In addition to the newly accredited institutions, 20 accredited schools have successfully completed their maintenance accreditation review in business and/or accounting.

“It takes a great deal of determination and dedication to earn AACSB accreditation,” Jerry Trapnell, chief accreditation officer of AACSB International explained in a prepared statement. “Schools not only must meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculties and staffs make a commitment to ongoing improvement that ensures that they will deliver a high quality education to students.”

Pace University has earned international accounting accreditation. In the United States, Berry College, Clayton State University, Prairie View A&M, Rockhusrt University, Southern Utah University, the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Washburn University, join Bilkent University of Turkey, Ecole Superieure de Commerce et de Management of France, McMaster University in Canada and the American University in Cairo (Egypt), in earning business accreditation.

“Congratulations to Pace University on earning the highest achievement in business and accounting school accreditation,” said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International, in a prepared statement. “The faculties, deans, directors, and administrative staff at Pace are to be commended for their hard work in helping their institution earn accounting accreditation.”

All accredited schools must go through a peer review every five years in order to maintain the accreditation. Among the 20 institutions successfully completing their maintenance of accreditation review, 12 held accounting accreditation and 16 had business accreditations. Schools can hold both business and accounting accreditation.

AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting.
