The Boards of Directors of TAG International and AGN International-North America, Inc., announce the merger of the North American memberships of these two leading associations into one effective January 1, 2002.
The new entity, to be known as AGN International-North America, Inc. (AGN), creates an association of 52 independent accounting and business consulting firms located in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Annual billings of the 52 firms exceeded $350 million in 2000. In addition, nine of those firms' billings' exceed $10 million each annually, and seven are listed in various top 100 firms lists in the U.S.
Curtis Fowler, President of AGN International-North America, Inc., and Bill Young, Chairman of the North American region for TAG International, said common growth strategies, the decision to take a broader view of geographic overlap and the "striking similarities" between the two entities' members, structure and services prompted the merger discussions, which began last March.
"We are very hopeful for a 100% combination internationally as well,â Young said, noting that if this occurs, the resultant 200 member firm organization would have worldwide turnover (billings to clients) of approximately $909.3 million and be the 14th largest accounting network in the world."
