KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, has announced that John Tam has joined its Los Angeles Tax practice as a partner.
In his new role, Tam will help the KPMG Tax Practice expand its marketplace presence in Southern California. He will also provide tax services to multinational clients investing outside as well as inside the United States, including clients from China.
Tam brings with him to KPMG over 23 years of Big Four experience as a tax professional. He specializes in many aspects of international tax planning for U.S. multinationals, including advising multinational clients on issues such as mergers and acquisitions, cross-border financing, transfer pricing, and repatriation of earnings. He also has significant experience in structuring and restructuring the operations of U.S. and foreign-based multinational corporations.

Prior to joining KPMG, Tam worked at another Big Four accounting firm where he was lead partner of the San Jose International Tax Services team and served C-level executives at FORTUNE 1000 companies.
Tam holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
