Axxon Capital is a new business - barely a year old - owned and operated by two financial professionals, both women, one an African American. The Axxon team brings together many years of experience in high finance. They feel their understanding of the marketplace puts them in a unique position to assist female- and minority-owned high tech business ventures.
Meanwhile, Smith College and the networking group, Women in Technology International, have joined forces to create a center on the Smith College campus that will encourage women students to prepare for tech careers. The center will help with job searches and internships in an effort to help women launch high-tech companies.
In another effort to encourage women to consider high tech career opportunities, Ernst & Young has partnered with a company called Ground Floor Ventures, a company that provides resources to women-owned or operated software and e-businesses.
