Are you ready to run with the bulls into the next decade? According to author and prognosticator Harry S. Dent, you should be.
In his latest book, "The Roaring 2000s Investor: Strategies for the Life You Want," Dent predicts the current stock-market boom will continue into the first decade of the new millennium and could take the Dow as high as 35,000 to 41,000 at the top of the boom. After the boom, Dent sees a long period of recession or depression beginning around 2009. Dent's book is scheduled for release later this month.
Dent, a former money manager and financial newsletter editor, uses global demographic and technology trends in his forecasting. He believes large cap stocks - technology, finance and health care, are the best investment opportunities for the new millennium.
For you skeptics out there, Dent is not new to the prediction game. In his 1992 book, "The Great Boom Ahead," Dent accurately predicted the economic and stock market boom that we are experiencing today. He continued this theme in his 1998 book, "The Roaring 2000s: Building the Wealth and Lifestyle You Desire in the Greatest Boom in History."
