Aronson & Company (A&C), a nationally ranked top 50 accounting and consulting firm, recently announced the winner of its Team Aronson contest. The prize, a Dorm Room Super Bowl Party, was awarded to Robert Sturgill, a senior Accounting major at the University of Maryland, after he entered a random drawing on campus. The Grand Prize included a 32" flat screen television, a pizza party, a $100 gift certificate and more.
The Team Aronson giveaway tied in with A&C's TeamAronson.com Web site launch last fall, geared toward college accounting and finance majors. The firm developed the site as a resource for prospective and current accounting professionals, giving them direct and immediate access to industry information.
"Team Aronson is a reflection of our firm's commitment to allowing our staff to design their own future," remarked Lisa J. Cines, A&C's Managing Officer. "We're very pleased to congratulate Robert and wish him all the best in his accounting career."
Sturgill served just under seven years in the military, including three tours overseas in Afghanistan and Pakistan. When he returned, his first goal was to obtain a college education. In the time since he won the Team Aronson on-campus drawing, Sturgill has become an intern with the company's Government Contracting Services Group.
Sturgill commented, "It's an excellent opportunity to grow as a professional with a reputable firm during the busy tax season. I am able to gain invaluable experience, which reinforces the principles learned in the classroom. I can't think of a better way to begin my career."
