Today, at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, the first session of a new meeting series to improve international financial disclosure will be held. The session, “Towards Greater Financial Disclosure,” unites business leaders, academia, regulators, government officials, accounting industry experts and financial institutions from Asia, Europe and North America.
International financial disclosure is a global issue that has been called a “significant contributing factor to the Asian Economic Crisis.” The meeting series is the first global, multi-lateral approach to resolving this serious challenge.
According to Jacques Manardo, Chairman/Europe of Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu, “International disparity in clear, coherent financial disclosure is one of the greatest threats to sustained global economic growth. It prevents investors, bankers and regulators from accurately assessing the health of a company, country or region’s economy.”
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT), a global professional services firm, is responsible for initiating the meeting series.
