Web-Based Accounting Services Rated and Reviewed
The Ziff-Davis Smart Business Labs rated and ranked Web-Based accounting software as part of a longer article examining the ins and outs of companies outsourcing accounting functions to a Web-based service.
Accounting services reviewed include NetLedger, Flagship, Sage's MAS 90 and Intacct. The magazine has include a complete listing of all four packages with pros, cons, contact information, cost and comments.
The winner was NetLedger based on its ease-of-use and simplicity. The magazine said it was straightforward, and while it lacked some of the higher end features associated with MAS 90 and Flagship, it was more responsive in the long run, ran faster than other programs and blended well with both Netscape and Explorer.
AccountingWeb welcomes your feedback on what program(s) you encourage your clients to use, and how the package helps your practice or processes.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
