Do You Suffer from Internet Password Overload?

If you spend much time on the Internet, you probably have a password for just about every web site you are a member of, passwords for AOL, passwords for HOTMAIL, passwords for personal online finance accounts and on and on. You get the drift!

You may to use the same password from one site to the next, but character limit requirements and other rules sometimes prevent this from being possible or practical. Pasting sticky notes all over your screen isn't very practical either. You could store a list of your passwords on your computer, but is that a wise idea?

AccountingWEB has found a free downloadable resource called Gator. This program tracks personal usernames and passwords of all the web sites you visit and then automatically enters them when you return to these password protected sites. You can even use Gator to fill out forms online with your name, address, phone, e-mail, etc. All of the information is stored on your own hard drive, and to add to the privacy of the program, you can password protect the program itself so you're the only one who can access it. At least you will need to remember only a few passwords now!

Gator is available from Gator's homepage at www.gator.com, where you can also view a slideshow demonstration of this "Web companion" to see exactly what it can do for you.

If you like what you see, you can download the program for free. Installation is quick and easy and the program works with either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
