Competition Reigns! EY Tapped for Extranet

Who says you shouldn't conduct business with competitors? In the 'new economy,' nothing could be further from the truth as evidenced by a UK consortium of oil and gas companies known as Logic.

Extranets are hot commodities, and Ernst & Young has been asked by Logic to develop services related to its external Internet system.

Logic is an organization of British oil and gas companies. The group uses its extranet to join members' supply chains for a variety of services, including marketing, procurement and electronic transactions.

The first iteration of the Logic extranet was developed by member companies, and has challenged EY to evaluate the current system and recommend enhancements as needed.

EY has quite a bit of experience dealing with extranets, both in the client sector and in its own firm with Ernie.
