AccountingWEB launches new Microsoft Office Accounting Zone
AccountingWEB is pleased to open the latest area of our Web site, the Office Accounting Zone. This new zone is dedicated to providing the latest news, tips, and commentary on Microsoft's accounting software for those who use the program, help others use the program, or are just curious about Office Accounting.
Microsoft went into direct competition with several popular small business accounting programs with its foray into this market. Unlike the software giant's unsuccessful attempt to break into the tax software preparation market several years ago with its TaxSaver program, Microsoft seems determined to stick around in the accounting market.
To serve the users and service providers of Microsoft Office Accounting, AccountingWEB will offer the opportunity for readers to participate in our interactive Questions and Advice forum, add commentary to our blogs, request information about specific features of the program, and keep up to date on the latest news relating to Office Accounting.
Microsoft released the 2008 version of its Office Accounting package last November, expanding the program with a bilingual Spanish-English version and offering a new product for the UK market as well.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
