Here you'll find the text and accompanying explanations of the latest tax acts, information and commentary about pending legislation, news from the Tax Court, and links to IRS rulings and pronouncements.

    Quick Reference

In our Quick Reference section, you'll find the tools you need to have at your fingertips during tax season, including latest standard deduction and personal exemption amounts, personal exemption phase-out levels, Social Security Threshold amounts, and links to the most popular IRS publications arranged by the tax form that calls for them.

    Client Letters and Checklists

On this page of the Tax Zone, we will share with our readers a plethora of sample letters and checklists that can be sent to clients, including engagement letters, letters explaining technical aspects of the tax law, letters about tax planning, and more. In addition, we'll provide checklists to help organize the tax practice as well as organizers and checklists to help your clients. We encourage our readers to submit their letters and checklists and other organization tools so that all AccountingWEB members can benefit.

    Tax Books, Software, CPE

This section of Tax Zone is devoted to sharing published resources, including the latest useful books on taxation, links to tax software services, and tax-related CPE information. We welcome suggestions and reviews as we build this area.

    Calculators and Spreadsheets

Since the point of Tax Zone is to make your job easier, we've established this section of the site to provide timesaving tools. With useful calculators and nifty spreadsheets, tax preparers can devote more of their valuable time to servicing clients. Once again, we welcome your suggestions and submissions for this growing area of the site.
