Increase in number of first time e-filers spurs Intuit to create resource center for its users

Intuit’s Accounting Professionals Division is seeing increases in the number of e-filed returns and an increase in the number of first-time e-filers due to recent IRS mandates. To help first-time and seasoned e-filers, Intuit created online e-file resource centers for tax professionals – one for Lacerte and one for ProSeries.

The significant number of first-time e-filers has also resulted in increased “How do I?” questions in Intuit’s various support channels, including the online knowledgebase, support chat, and Intuit’s Live Community.  “We believe this increase is largely due to two factors: the number of tax professionals who are newly affected by the IRS mandate for e-filing and the broader availability of business e-filing ,” stated Julie Avila, a customer experience leader on Intuit’s technical support and service team.

“These resource pages are loaded with instructional videos, tips from your peers, and links to other useful e-file tools, like Intuit’s EF Atlas,” stated Mike Hahn, a senior manager in the Intuit Academy training group. “The tools and videos in the e-file resource centers can help tax practitioners save hours of time in learning how to quickly and easily e-file their clients’ returns.”

Intuit expects to continue to see increases in e-filing by tax professionals as their adoption continues to rise and as more states’ forms become available for e-file. .
