ADP offers tips to stretch your payroll dollars

ADP Employer Services, a provider of HR, payroll, and benefits administration services, has announced its annual National Payroll Week campaign to help educate workers on how to maximize their paychecks. In today's economic climate, ADP and the American Payroll Association (APA) highlight small businesses as the engine behind job growth and demonstrate how pre-tax payroll deductions can help small business employees stretch their earnings.

"According to the ADP Small Business Report, small businesses continue to outpace their larger counterparts in terms of job growth. With competitive pressures and everyday costs on the rise, small business owners can help their employees make the most of each paycheck," said Mike Martone, chief operating officer, ADP. "By educating employees on the pre-tax programs available, business owners can boost employee satisfaction and loyalty, ultimately contributing to business objectives."

The 2008 campaign features a radio announcement designed to educate workers on the financial benefits received by enrolling in pre-tax and tax-advantaged programs, such as TRIP (Transportation Reimbursement Incentive Program), Flexible Spending Accounts, and 401(k) plans.

"Small business owners can provide helpful payroll-related benefits that can positively impact an employee's ability to save for retirement, a child's education, even commuting and health care costs," said Dan Maddux, Executive Director, American Payroll Association. "By offering these programs, small businesses can help employees keep up with the rising cost of living while controlling their own expenses."
