Six FCG Members Honored by AICPA for Service
Those chosen for the Hall of Fame and Volunteers of the Year were honored for their service to the profession. Hall of Fame inductees included James Hitchner, CPA/ABV, ASA of Phillips Hitchner Group, Inc. in Atlanta, Ga.; James Rigby, CPA/ABV, ASA of the Financial Valuation Group of California in Los Angeles, Calif.; Michael Mard, CPA/ABV, ASA of the Financial Valuation Group of Florida in Tampa, Fla.; and Art Brueggeman, CPA/ABV of Brueggeman and Johnson, P.C. in Seattle, Wash.
The two members honored with the Volunteer of the Year award included Mark Zyla, CPA/ABV, ASA, CFA of the Phillips Hitchner Group in Atlanta, GA.; and Harold Martin, CPA/ABV, ASA, CFE, CVA of Keiter Stephens Hurst Gary & Shreaves in Glen Allen, Va.
'We are very proud to have so many incredible volunteers serving the profession,' says Larry R. Cook, CPA/ABV, CBA, a Houston CPA who also is chairman of the 2000-2001 AICPA ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) Credential Committee. 'Being recognized by the AICPA is a distinguished honor that is unparalled in scope.'
FCG is an national organization of more than 65 firms working in business valuation, who have pooled their technical expertise to bring specialized expertise to their clients.

Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
