CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business announced Tuesday, July 26, 2011, its acquisition of SpeedTax, a provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales and use tax solutions. The addition of SpeedTax bolsters the expansive offering of SaaS tax preparation, document management, portal, practice, and workstream found in the CCH ProSystemfx® Suite of Products.

SpeedTax is a product and provider certified as a CSP (certified service provider) and CAS (certified automated solution) by the SST (Streamlined Sales Tax) Governing Board. This SaaS sales and use tax solution performs real-time calculations and is designed to integrate with many financial accounting packages, Point of Sale terminals, and e-Commerce solutions.

Mike Sabbatis, CCH Tax and Accounting president & CEO, North America, explained that the innovative SaaS platform of SpeedTax fits in nicely with the technology strategy of continuing to serve the small-to-medium enterprise (SME) customers and the professional firms that work with this market. The purchase compliments the best in process workflows that CCH already has in place, such as rate tables, lookup tools, and automated calculation engines in ERP systems. CCH hopes to a broader range of customers and accelerate growth in the corporate segment.

CCH welcomes the current customer base of SpeedTax and will continue to provide the service and improvements to the solution.

You can visit the new home of SpeedTax online at www.cchgroup.com/SpeedTax to find additional information about sales and use products, access existing accounts or contact support.
