  1. American Workers Want Caring Companies According to Survey

According to a new survey on corporate community involvement released today by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, 74% of employed Americans in the Central Atlantic Region (Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, DC and Richmond) would choose to work for a company that supports charitable causes when deciding between two jobs with the same location, responsibilities, pay and benefits.

  1. $100,000 "SUV Write-Off" to End for Small Businesses

Call it a tax break for the wealthy or a justifiable business expense, but whatever you call it, the SUV tax loophole is almost certain to be closed.

  1. Number of Execs. Who Want to Become CEO Reaches All-Time Low

The number of executives who don't want to be CEO has doubled since 2001, according to new research by global communications consultancy Burson Marsteller. Only about one-third (35 percent) say they want to be CEO (versus 47 percent in 2001). The study was conducted among Fortune 1000 executives.

Quebec has become the lone hold out in a plan to unify Canada's accounting profession with representatives calling off merger talks on last week.
