Integration of payroll data: Not an issue with online payroll services

By Julie Lubetkin

Some of the most desirable integrated service solutions for accounting professionals can be described as those that give the accountant the freedom and flexibility to use the best-fit accounting solutions without any added work. Accounting professionals should not be constrained to using only one vendor's technology if there is another resource available that provides a more appropriate fit for clients and the practice.

Accountants should be able to add online payroll services to their practice without any integration issues between the payroll service and their preferred accounting package. When technology does not integrate easily, or seamlessly for that matter, information must be entered manually, which is a tremendous waste of an accountant's time and resources.

Integration is not an issue for accounting professionals using PayCycle's online payroll services. PayCycle integrates with all of the leading accounting products including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks for Mac, Quicken, Peachtree, ATX Client Write-Up, TaxWise Client Write-Up, CCH ProSystem fx Write-Up, and Microsoft Money. PayCycle also provides an Export Manager center that makes it possible to export tax payments and paychecks all at one time. This integration has eliminated the need for any re-keying of payroll data, making managing payroll services a snap for anyone, including accounting professionals who may consider themselves payroll novices. PayCycle has made exporting payroll data even easier with its new One-Click Export to QuickBooks. Checks and payroll taxes can now be imported into QuickBooks from PayCycle with a single click.

In addition to integration, PayCycle users also enjoy computer platform independence. Accountants and their clients can use either a PC or a Mac (or even handheld devices) so long as they connect to the Internet. There is a great risk of losing clients when the technology does not easily work across multiple platforms like Mac to PC. Fortunately, PayCycle integrates seamlessly regardless if the user is on a PC or a Mac so accountants need not be concerned.

Accountants should not be bound to use products from one company if another company's solution provides greater convenience and is easier to use.
