New Services for Accounting Members of IMA

Members of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) may now participate in a new Forum designed to connect one another according to a specific sector within accounting and finance.

'We're trying to provide members with an opportunity to learn from, and network with, each other - online,' says Karen Sanders, editor/director of Member Interest Groups. 'The forums and email exchanges we provide are vehicles for them to do just that. We've had bulletin boards for two years, but we've increased the number and made them much more industry-specific.'

Areas available within the Forum include:

  • E-mail exchanges using a Listserve - members may send one message to anyone subscribing to the Listserve;
  • online polls to gauge opinion;
  • 'Information Dropoff' - a central place to share various documents, including spreadsheets, job descriptions and more;
  • a directory of members;
  • a set of industry links.

Sectors available include academic, communications, healthcare, not-for-profit, services, transportation, wholesale/retail, construction, government, manufacturing, natural resources, technology and retail.
