It's Time to Vote: Download XYZ Ballot from Internet

Members of the AICPA are encouraged to cast their votes on the controversial global business credential that, if enacted, will be referred to as Strategic Business Professional (IISBP). Ballots were mailed last week, along with an accompanying letter.

The AICPA letter explains that members of the AICPA council recently voted to support a change in the AICPA Bylaws which would grant authority to the CPA organization to create a new organization on behalf of IISBPs. It is now up to the AICPA members to decide if this bylaw change will be adopted.

All ballots must be received by December 28, 2001. Ballots received after that date will not be counted. A two-thirds majority of voting members is required for the change in bylaws to be adopted.

You can download a copy of the ballot from the AICPA Web site, however you cannot submit your vote online; the ballot must be received by mail for it to be counted. The mailing address is included on the ballot.

Find out all about the global credential, read what others have to say, and add your own thoughts about this controversial issue at AccountingWEB's 'XYZ' Global Credential Resource Center.
