Intacct Online Accounting to Proceed with October Dates for Net Gain 2001 Accounting Visionary Conference
--Plans for Monterey Event Remain On Schedule; Focuses on Online Accounting and Advances in Online Business Service Offerings--
October 1, 2001 (Los Gatos, Calif.)— Intacct Corporation, the leading provider of online professional accounting solutions, today announced that despite new Federal air travel security procedures, the Annual Net Gain Accounting Visionary Conference will take place as planned from October 25-27, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey, California. The decision to proceed is based on input from attendees, sponsors, and speakers in support of Intacct’s commitment to its customer and partner base.
“Along with the rest of the nation, our team is deeply saddened by the events of September 11,” stated Intacct CEO, David C. Thomas. “However, we intend to remain steadfast in our support of the nation’s goal to resume and strengthen business activities, and that is the precise reason for Net Gain: to provide a forum for our customers and partners to strengthen their business processes and offerings.”
The conference, which will play host to a number of the nation’s leading CPA firms, accounting outsourcers, and system integrators who use the Intacct online accounting system to manage their clients and practices and to extend the capabilities of their online business offerings, will explore the benefits and best practices of online accounting and business services.
The event will feature keynotes from Intacct’s CEO David C. Thomas, CCH Tax Compliance Division CEO Gene Landoe, and Roy Avondet, one of Deloitte & Touche’s managing partners. The conference will also include high-level technical review panels, E-Practice strategy sessions, best practices sessions, Intacct system training, new product announcements, and partner exhibits.
Sponsoring partners include Deloitte & Touche, ADP, Principal Financial, BNA Software, CCH, CBS Payroll, IBM, salesforce.com, WebEx Communications, Execusite, Logic Team, Nelco, and eTapestry. Apple Computer will sponsor a Macintosh Internet café for conference participants.
As an added benefit for CPA attendees, several of the event sessions will offer eligibility for CPE credit.

Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
