Important Announcement From AccountingWEB
AccountingWEB to remain free, but will be restricted in many places to registered members only.
A message from Michael Platt, AccountingWEB CEO:
To ensure the continued growth and development of AccountingWEB as a world class online community for the profession, we are changing the way our site is accessed and are encouraging all visitors to AccountingWEB to become full registered members of the site.
Beginning later this week, visitors to AccountingWEB will be required to register on the site in order to gain access to all of the AccountingWEB resources.
Registration is FREE and access to our site will continue to be free.
Below are the answers to some of the questions you may have about our new procedures. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll be happy to answer your questions personally.
Thank you for your continued support in helping to make AccountingWEB the best that it can be.
Michael T. Platt, CEO

Some questions you may be considering:
- Am I already a registered member?
- Will I have to log in every time I come on to AccountingWEB?
- I know I'm a member but don't know my log in details. How do I find my username and password?
- How do I register on the site for membership?
- What about privacy?
- What are the benefits of registering?
If at the top left of this screen you see your name, then you're all set - you're in as a registered member. If, however you see the word "Visitor", then you are not logged in as a member. You'll need to log in now. If you are not receiving our weekly email newswire from us, you'll need to register to receive a username and password.
No. Once you log in the first time, your computer will hold a cookie which will allow our site to recognize you each time you enter AccountingWEB, so you won't have to log in more than one time only.
Don't worry. If you have forgotten your log in details we can remind you quickly and easily.
Simply follow the register link.
AccountingWEB has a strict Privacy Statement detailing our commitment to the privacy of all of our members.
In addition to having full unrestricted access to the site, you will also receive the weekly Friday Wrap-up email newswire which acts as a digest of all news, ideas and resources highlighted on AccountingWEB that week. See our Beginners Guide for full details of benefits of membership.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
