Is GoldMine 5.0 a gold mine?

Some people swear by it and others have heard that GoldMine is difficult to use. And with the goal of overcoming this “difficult” reputation, GoldMine 5.0 combines ease-of-use features and improved contact, opportunity, and marketing management tools.

The new version better integrates with Microsoft Outlook and sports a new multimedia tutorial. This package helps middle-of-the-road users manage data at a fraction of the cost. It works best for sales teams of 10 to 50 users who need to share information about sales prospects and ensure that the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

New document features include a tracking system for templates designed for mailings, memos, and faxes. The Literature Fulfillment feature ensures appropriate materials go to prospects – on time. And if you are looking for industry-specific templates, you’ll find them here. This can help you shave time off of customizing your software to “fit” your firm.

The interface for GoldMine 5.0 also has been simplified and makes it easier to find commands, edit contacts, and modify screens. Other cool functions are auto-fill, auto-caps, and automatic duplicate checking which helps eliminate duplicates.

Bottom line, GoldMine is still not as easy to use as ACT!2000, but it offers a well-rounded package with features that you might just fall in love with.
