UHY Advisors announces recipient of 2008 IDEA User of Excellence award

Audimation Services, Inc. has selected David King with UHY Advisors FLVS, Inc. as the recipient of the 2008 IDEA of Excellence Award.

King, a Manager and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with UHY, received the award for helping clients check compliance and identify exposures within the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The award, which was presented to King during the 1st North America IDEA User Conference held in Atlanta, is designed to recognize IDEA users for their creativity and resourcefulness in using the product to deliver better results that ultimately affect their client’s bottom line.

“In the past two years of using IDEA, I’ve found that it can be used for almost any case where data management or analysis is necessary,” said King. “It simplifies the work we do regarding the FCPA where we were required to bring in data from a variety of sources and forms, then run tests to produce a subset of transactions to request documentary evidence. IDEA simplifies this process, and provides us with a snapshot view for reporting our findings. Basically, by using IDEA I can do more in less time, which not only reduces costs for our clients, but provides a higher quality of work product.”

“David King has realized the benefits of using IDEA and brought those efficiencies into the Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services department of UHY, allowing his colleagues to focus on their work as accountants, economists and financial consultants,” said Carolyn Newman, president, Audimation Services. “He has shared his knowledge of the product by leading training sessions and presenting information at company conferences. We are pleased to recognize his creative and resourceful use of IDEA.”

As a manager with UHY, King has conducted FCPA investigations in both the U.S. and abroad for a variety of clients across multiple industries. Prior to joining UHY, King served as an analyst with J.A. Compton & Co., a public accounting firm specializing in litigation support and restructuring. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Lancaster University in England and attended Rice University as an exchange student.
