Puzzle,Merger

Two South Florida firms have become one: Miami-based Chaves & Armstrong, PA, and Daszkal Bolton LLP joined effective December 1 and are practicing as Daszkal Bolton LLP.

The new firm is located in Sunrise, at Daszkal Bolton’s office. Chaves & Armstrong partners Mark Chaves and Craig Armstrong will serve as principals, bringing their expertise in technical accounting and multinational tax to the new firm. Daszkal Bolton is a Top 25 accounting firm in South Florida, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The newly merged firm is made up of 105 professionals.

In other merger news, New York City-based Friedman LLP and Bagell, Josephs, Levine and Co. LLC of Marlton, NJ, will join forces on January 1 under the name Friedman LLP. The merger will allow Friedman to build its practice area in New Jersey for publicly-held clients. Audit, accounting, and tax services will be integrated. The merger will create a staff of 325 with 46 partners.

The firms said that Friedman is an independent member of the DFK International association of accounting firms, which will benefit Bagell, Josephs, Levine and Co., as the firm recently opened an office in Beijing.
