RSM McGladrey Acquires Rockford BDO Seidman Office
RSM McGladrey last month increased its presence in the northern Illinois marketplace with the acquisition of the non-attest assets of BDO Seidman LLP in Rockford. In a separate transaction, McGladrey & Pullen LLP acquired the Rockford audit and attest assets.

|Fixed Assets||Shipping & Receiving|
"This move makes RSM McGladrey the only national provider of accounting, tax and business consulting services in the Rockford area," said Joe Adams, managing director of RSM McGladrey's Great Lakes practice.
"Bringing these two smart teams of people together will only serve as a win-win for our collective groups of clients," Adams added. "The strength of RSM McGladrey both in the United States and globally through its affiliation with RSM International, coupled with our own knowledge and expertise in this marketplace expands our value as a trusted business advisor."
This acquisition increases the RSM McGladrey Rockford office to a total of 145 personnel. The office is located at 501 Seventh Street in downtown Rockford. In addition to the traditional accounting, tax and business consulting services, a full range of retirement plan and wealth management services are also available.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
