Rosen Seymour Shapss Martin & Co. expands operations through merger

Rosen Seymour Shapss Martin & Company LLP (RSSM) recently announced that Kahn, Hoffman & Hochman, LLP (KH&H) has merged its practice into RSSM effective January 1, 2011. The firm will operate under the name Kahn Hoffman & Hochman LLC, a Division of RSSM LLP.

The merger adds an additional 40 accountants to RSSM, including four partners. This increases RSSM's total staff to more than 225. The firm will continue to serve KH&H's clients from its existing offices in New City and White Plains, New York. Michael Hochman will be the partner-in-charge of the operations in the New City office.

"We look forward to having KH&H's partners and staff join the RSSM family and making RSSM bigger, better, and stronger as the premier accounting firm servicing the tri-state metropolitan area," said Martin L. Greenberg, RSSM managing partner.

"We are enthusiastic about continuing the high level of service and expertise Gary Kahn, Enid Hoffman, Michael Hochman, Richard McGuinness, William Hughes, Maryann Schugmann, and all of KH&H's excellent staff have provided their valued client base. KH&H will now be able to offer their new and old established client base expanded premiere accounting, auditing, and tax services along with specialty services," Greenberg said.

KH&H was founded in 1974 by Kahn and, under his guidance, the firm has enjoyed substantial growth while emerging as a leading force in the Rockland County business community, according to the firm. It is now the largest accounting firm in Rockland County, providing tax and business consulting services to more than 600 businesses and 1,200 individual clients.

"We are very proud of our long tradition in Rockland County. However, we also recognize that the next step for our team and our clients was to merge with a firm committed to quality and that has the expanded capabilities RSSM has. This merger will enable us to significantly expand the services to our clients in Rockland and Westchester counties, as well as in the New York Metropolitan Area," said Hochman.

"RSSM shares our philosophy of helping our clients grow and succeed, and the merger will broaden and deepen our service offerings, enabling us to offer more comprehensive business advice tailored to our clients," Hochman added.
