Rea & Associates collects 12 tons of food for the hungry

Ohio families will have more food for the holidays thanks to the efforts of employees at Rea & Associates. Employees of the CPA firm's 11 Ohio offices raised more than 24,000 pounds of food during the annual holiday food drive.

"I'm very proud of our team and their commitment to helping others," said CEO Lee Beall. "Helping in the community is an important part of our culture here at Rea. The food drive was a great way for our offices to participate in a firm-wide effort that benefits each of our local communities."

Each office donated their collected food to a different charity, which included Share-A-Christmas, the Salvation Army, Guernsey County Senior Center, Dublin Food Pantry, Marietta Community Food Pantry, Medina Battered Women's Shelter, St. Paul's Episcopal Church Food Bank, WomanSafe, and Lighthouse Love Center. Firm-wide, team members donated an average of more than 100 pounds of food per person.

"It is great to be able to help the holiday season be a little brighter for so many families," said Jo Ann Edie, benefits coordinator and one of the food drive's coordinators. "We've made the food drive an annual holiday event that entices friendly competition between our offices for a great cause."
