"PKF Texas is honored to be recognized as a Best Company to Work for in Texas for the second year in a row,” said Kenneth Guidry, CPA, president. "PKF Texas enters this type of program because it provides an important measure of how our people view our work environment and gives an indication as to areas where we can improve."

PKF Texas was recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards ceremony on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Texas Association of Business 2009 Annual Conference.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The survey was administered by the Best Companies Group.

In related news, PKF Texas was named one of the Best Accounting Firms to Work For in the inaugural program, sponsored by the Accountants Media Group, publsihers of Accounting Today, Accounting Technology, CPA Wealth Provider, and Practical Accountant magazines. PKF Texas is proud to be in the company of the best accounting firms in the nation.

"PKF Texas is honored to be included in the first Best Accounting Firms to Work For program," said Guidry. "PKF Texas takes this type of recognition very seriously because our team members provide the survey responses. The results provide us valuable feedback about our people and areas in which we are doing well and the areas where we can improve."

Nearly 200 accounting firms across the nation applied and completed the survey process. Sixty firms were chosen for the final list.

The survey and award program were designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in the accounting industry, benefiting the nation's economy, its workforce, and businesses. The survey was administered by the Best Companies Group.

Microsoft Gold Certified Partner

PKF Texas, the only Houston-based accounting and technology consulting firm specializing in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, has attained Gold Certified Partner status for the fifth year in a row. The Gold Certified Partner status was awarded in the Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) and Information Worker competencies. As a Gold Certified Partner, PKF Texas has demonstrated expertise with Microsoft technologies and proven ability to meet customers’ needs.

The Gold Certified Partner Status represents the highest level of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on skills and is awarded to just four percent of all Microsoft Partners. PKF Texas is one of the few that also specializes in MBS, the family of Microsoft Dynamics financial applications, including Dynamics NAV, GP, SL, and CRM.

The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Program helps customers identify companies that have proven their commitment and expertise in one or more specialized areas when delivering Microsoft technologies. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners must meet a higher set of criteria for each category, including enhanced certification and a portfolio of customer references, and are thus identified as the most skilled partners in specific solution areas.

"This award represents our continuing dedication to being the best in Microsoft technologies," said Greg Price, director, consulting solutions. "From our involvement in the MBS Global Development Team for Dynamics-NAV software to our ongoing commitment to the highest standard of client service, we are devoted to bringing sound accounting and technology solutions to companies. I want to thank our clients and our Dynamics NAV team for all their hard work."

Marketer of the Year

PKF Texas has been recognized as Houston’s 2008 Marketer of the Year in the Financial Services – Non-Banking category by the Houston chapter of the American Marketing Association. The Marketer of the Year award recognizes Houston companies, organizations, and institutions for their outstanding marketing efforts.

"The marketing culture at PKF Texas has not happened by chance, and we are proud to be a best of category winner for the second year in a row," said Guidry.

A group of local business leaders and area marketing professionals helped determine the 176 Houston-area firms that were nominated this year. Voting by AMA-Houston's membership resulted in 33 Best of Category winners being selected. Finalists in other categories include the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston Business Journal, and the Rice University Jones School.

Best of category winners will be recognized and presented their awards at a reception to be held on March 2, 2009 at the Alley Theatre.
