Name Change, Affiliation Part of BMF's Strategy
The firm added the name, Fedorovich, last month to reflect the contributions made by Managing Partner, Rick Fedorovich. The affiliation with FCG is a result of the firm having built a strong business valuation and litigation practice during the past few years. BMF & Company responded to a recent invitation to join FCG, a group recognized in the industry as containing the field's most authoritative experts on business valuation.
Many FCG members hold advanced accreditations and BMF will fit right in. For example, two members of BMF & Company carry special credentials as valuation experts. Mark Bober, CPA, partner, carries the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the American Institute of CPAs, and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). Ray Dunkle, CPA, the firm's manager of valuation services, also holds CVA certification.
FCG is a North American consortium of accounting and consulting firms that have pooled their technical expertise to bring specialized valuation and litigation expertise to their clients. There are over 60 firms within the United States affiliated with FCG, and BMF & Company is one of two Ohio-based firms that are part of the alliance.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
