Morrison & Company merges with WithumSmith+Brown

Forensic accounting firm Morrison & Company, P.A., has merged with New Jersey-based CPA firm WithumSmith+Brown, P.C. (WS+B). Effective this week, the union adds 14 professionals to the WS+B roster.
The Morrison & Company staff currently based in the Paramus office will remain at that location, under the WS+B name.
"We have been fortunate in that we are experiencing a small increase in revenue and our bottom line has held up despite the stagnant economy. We believe that now is the opportune time to make investments that will pay off exponentially when the economy is in full recovery," Bill Hagaman, WS+B CEO and managing partner, told AccountingWEB.
Hagaman added that WS+B continues to speak to other firms; however there are no other expected mergers for 2010.
Morrison & Co. specializes in the investigation and valuation of closely held businesses, and in providing litigation support and testimony in business valuations, complex civil and criminal litigation, damage claims, divorce litigation, mediation and arbitration services, and stockholder disputes.
“We have been seeking the right strategic partner to enhance our litigation support service capabilities, and we found the perfect match in Morrison & Co. in terms of expertise, geographic location, and culture,” Hagaman said. “Our new colleagues pride themselves on providing clients with excellence and integrity, aligning with the commitment made to all WithumSmith+Brown clients.”
