Merger Puts Firm in Top 10 in Indianapolis

Two privately held accounting firms have merged, creating one of the largest private firms in the Indianapolis area. Zurface, Sanders & Rasor and LM Henderson & Company PC joined October 1. The new firm is operating under the name LM Henderson and Co. LLP, with approximately 40 employees.

ZSR had been ranked 25th in the area, based on number of employees, by the Indiana Business Journal Book of Lists, while Henderson was placed at 15th, which was among the highest for private, local firms. The merger brings the new firm into the top 10.

“This merger brings together two firms with a culture of highly personalized accounting, tax and consulting services,” said principal Mike Rasor. “We are confident this culture will help our clients and staff continue to grow.”

Both firms provide accounting, auditing, and tax and management advisory services for central Indiana businesses and residents. The firm says that the merger will enable it to take on larger clients and provide better service for existing customers.

The company also said that the merger means employees can expect greater opportunities for advancement.

The new firm will be managed by five principals – William Blaser, James Cline, Michael Rasor, Michelle Zimmerman and Robert Zurface. With the merger, Zurface, Sanders & Rasor, previously based in downtown Indianapolis, will move to LM Henderson’s offices.
