McGladrey Acquires DC Firm
RSM McGladrey, Inc., a national accounting, tax and consulting firm serving mid-sized businesses, has acquired the non-attest (non-CPA) business of Washington D.C.'s Keller Bruner & Company, LLP. Keller Bruner & Company, with offices in Bethesda and Frederick, MD, and Alexandria, VA, has been a member of the McGladrey Network, one of the country's premier affiliations of independent CPA firms, for 11 years.
"Joining RSM McGladrey provides us the additional national resources we will need to continue our aggressive growth strategy to meet and exceed the needs of middle-market businesses in the greater Washington, D.C. area," said Mitch Gorochow, managing partner of Keller Bruner & Company.
To ensure independence for attest services – including audits and reviews – Keller Bruner & Company's attest assets have been acquired by McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a Minneapolis-based, independently owned national CPA firm. Though separate entities, McGladrey & Pullen and RSM McGladrey work together to serve clients' accounting, tax and consulting needs from more than 100 offices nationwide. Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
Keller Bruner & Company has served the Washington, D.C. business community for more than 40 years. The firm has 195 professionals.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
