Marks Paneth & Shron LLP merges with Schneider & Associates LLP

Effective January 1, 2008, Marks Paneth & Shron LLP (MP&S), a full-service accounting firm with nearly 500 people, 69 of whom are partners and principals, has merged with Long Island-based accounting firm Schneider & Associates LLP. The merger adds four new partners to the Marks Paneth & Shron Woodbury, Long Island office. The new partners are Jerry Schneider, Dean Hiltzik, Mordecai Lerer, and Harriet Greenblatt.

New partners:

Jerry Schneider, CPA
Jerry Schneider was the Managing Partner of Schneider & Associates LLP and was the driving force in that firm's growth and development until it merged with Marks Paneth & Shron in 2008. Schneider's expertise is in the areas of business and individual tax, financial planning, and consulting. He also specializes in serving high net worth families and individuals.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Schneider holds a Bachelor of Science from Pace University.

Dean Hiltzik, CPA
Dean Hiltzik focuses his practice on federal and state corporate/partnership taxation and accounting for the wholesale, manufacturing, and securities industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the NYSSCPA Stock Brokerage Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University.

Mordecai Lerer, CPA
Mordecai Lerer has 25 years of experience providing accounting, audit, tax, and consulting services to the manufacturing and real estate industries, as well as to personal service businesses and investment partnerships. In addition, Lerer has significant experience in SEC reporting and consulting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He holds a Bachelor of Science from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.

Harriet Greenblatt, CPA
Harriet Greenblatt has nearly 25 years of experience practicing public accounting. She specializes in the restaurant and manufacturing industries, as well as high net worth individuals. Prior to merging with Marks Paneth & Shron, Greenblatt was the Quality Review Partner at Schneider & Associates LLP. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Greenblatt holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Old Westbury.
