Leslie Mostow Named Chairman of Maryland’s Board of Public Accountancy

On September 5, Reznick Group Principal Leslie A. Mostow, CPA, was named Chairman of the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy. The Board of Public Accountancy is the governing organization of certified public accountants (CPAs) in the state, establishing licensing guidelines and regulating individuals and firms that offer accounting services.

“This appointment is, without question, a highlight of my career,” commented Mostow. “It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to represent Reznick Group and the State of Maryland in such an important capacity.”

Mostow has been with Reznick Group’s Bethesda, Maryland, headquarters since 1991. He is a noted authority in the construction industry and provides services relating to taxation, accounting and business planning. Mostow is the chair of the National Commercial Builders Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and sits on NAHB’s executive committee. He is associate vice president of the Maryland Builders Association and is a life director of both the NAHB and the Maryland National Capital Builders Association. Mostow sits on the Board of the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. Mostow is also heavily involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, serving on the Executive Committee for the 2006 Heartsongs Gala in Washington, D.C. He has served on the Board of Public Accountancy since July 1998, originally appointed by Governor Parris Glendring and reappointed in July 2004 by Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.

The Reznick Group provides accounting, tax and business advisory services to a broad spectrum of clients. The firm’s home office has been located in Bethesda since 1980, with a second office opened in Baltimore in 1982.
