J.H. Cohn taps Wade McKnight to lead San Diego office

J.H. Cohn LLP, one of the top 20 accounting and consulting firms in the United States, has named Wade McKnight, CPA, office managing partner of its San Diego office. Former office managing partner, Michael Stewart, assumed a senior partner role effective February 1.

"Wade's extensive experience serving public and private companies and non-profit organizations, as well as his technical audit expertise, makes him a perfect choice to oversee our San Diego office," said Tom Marino, J.H. Cohn's chief executive officer. "Michael Stewart has done an exceptional job growing our Southern California presence and we thank him for his contributions to the Firm during the time he managed our San Diego office."

For more than 30 years, McKnight has served clients in such diverse industries as manufacturing, distribution, biotechnology, and gaming. He has also worked with clients on mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions. McKnight joined J.H. Cohn in 2007 as a partner in J.H. Cohn's public company services practice. In this role, McKnight led the office's audit practice and also served as a member of the firm's capital markets and SEC practice.

Before joining the Firm, McKnight was the Nevada practice managing partner at a large national firm, and led the firm's global and national gaming practices. Previously, he was the partner-in-charge of the Nevada audit practice and served in a similar capacity in Memphis.

McKnight holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, McKnight was recently appointed to the City of San Diego Audit Committee. Throughout his career, McKnight has been active in serving civic and not-for-profit organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of America, the United Way, and Olive Crest.
