J.H. Cohn Names Leadership Appointees

J.H. Cohn LLP, one of the country’s largest accounting and consulting firms, has appointed Charles (Chuck) Ludmer, Managing Director, Cohn Affiliated Companies and Steven Pinsky, Private Equity Practice Leader.

“Both Chuck and Steven are proven leaders within J.H. Cohn. The advanced skill sets they’ve displayed and the positive client relationships they have built make them natural successors into these roles,” said Thomas J. Marino, chief executive officer at J.H. Cohn. “I have utmost confidence in their future success, and in the enhanced success of the Affiliated Companies and Private Equity groups as they step into these leadership positions.”

As managing director of the Cohn Affiliated Companies, Ludmer will lead the firm's effort to provide value enhancement products and services to both corporate and individual private clients. These products and services include: retirement planning, a full range of insurance products (life, health and welfare, disability, and long-term care), wealth management, executive search, corporate financing, risk management and real estate. Chuck joined J.H. Cohn in 1978.

In 1980, he migrated to the firm's Management Consulting Group specializing in EDP Audit, System & Operational Enhancement, Profit Improvement consulting. Most recently, as president of Cohn Capital, he assisted clients in meeting their short and long term capital requirements.

Active in the business community, he has lectured at the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship, the New York chapters of the Commercial Finance Association, the New York State Society of CPA's, as well as serving New York University as an adjunct faculty member at the Stern School of Business.

Chuck has served on the Advisory Board of several commercial banks in addition to serving on several philanthropic boards including, the Business Council of Lincoln Center, ABNY and Temple Emanuel, Closter, New Jersey. Ludmer received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The College of New Jersey.

As the leader of J.H. Cohn’s Private Equity Practice, which provides transaction, tax, audit, consulting, and value-added services to the private equity community, Pinsky is responsible for the establishment, coordination and growth of all of the firm’s Private Equity relationships and activities.

He brings to this role over 15 years of M&A and private equity experience from the corporate, investment banking and due diligence perspectives. Steven started J.H. Cohn’s Merger and Acquisition Services Practice in 2003 and has led the effort to position J.H. Cohn as a premier provider of M&A transaction support services catering to middle market Private Equity and corporate clients.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Pinsky holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (High Honors), and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AMAA) and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for PDI, Inc.’s M&A newsletter.
